This week on Transit Accesible Attractions we will be featuring the Chabot Space and Science Center.
The Chabot Space and Science Center is located at 10000 Skyline Boulevard, in Oakland, CA, 94619 near Highway 13. The Science Center features hands-on interactive exhibitions, a full-dome digital Planetarium and historic Observatory, and much more. The Observatory is open Friday and Saturday evenings for telescope viewing. The Chabot Space and Science Center is regularly open Wedensday to Sunday; please check their website for summer and winter hours. Sometimes exhibits and buildings will close for private events.
To reach the Chabot Space and Science Center via public transit, visitors can travel on BART and exit at Fruitvale Station. Travelers then proceed downstairs and wait for AC Transit Bus Line 339, which travels between the Chabot Space and Science Center and Fruitvale BART Station.
Line 339 runs every few hours (random amounts) on weekdays and every 40 minutes on weekends. On weekdays, service begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM. On weekends, service begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 9:40 PM on Saturdays and 5:00 PM on Sundays.
BART runs from 4:00 AM (Weekdays), 6:00 AM (Saturday), 8:00 AM (Sunday) to midnight.
