This week on Transit Accesible Attractions we will be featuring the Oakland Zoo.

The Oakland Zoo is located at 9777 Gold Links Road, near Highway 580, in Oakland. The zoo is nestled in the 525-acre Knowland Park. It features over 650 native and exotic animals on display. The zoo is open year round except for June 22nd (annual fundraiser), Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

To reach the Oakland Zoo via public transit, visitors can travel on BART and exit at Coliseum Station. Travelers then proceed downstairs and wait for AC Transit Bus Line 46, which travels between the Oakland Zoo and Coliseum BART Station.

Line 46 runs every hour on weekdays and every 40 minutes on weekends. On weekdays, service begins at 6:00 AM and ends at 7:00 PM. On weekends, service begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM. During summer months, service frequency will increase to every 30 minutes on weekends.

BART runs from 4:00 AM (Weekdays), 6:00 AM (Saturday), 8:00 AM (Sunday) to midnight.

Stay tuned next week to see which attraction we'll feature next!
